"Red Queen" by Victoria Aveyard is a thrilling dystopian fantasy novel set in a world divided by blood. In this society, the color of your blood determines your social standing and extraordinary abilities. The Silvers, who have silver blood, possess superhuman powers and rule over the Reds, who have ordinary red blood. The story follows Mare Barrow, a Red with a twist: she discovers she possesses abilities of her own. As she navigates the treacherous world of Silvers and their political intrigue, she becomes a symbol of rebellion against an oppressive regime. "Red Queen" is a gripping tale of power, betrayal, and the fight for equality, blending elements of fantasy and revolution in a page-turning narrative.

So I actually read this book a while ago (and by that I mean like a year and a half ago) but it is still in my top fav one. First of all the plot. So easy to understand but at the same time full of twists and turns. I how original this book was and how Mrs. Aveyard wrote the book in general.

I loved how the chapters ended with a cliffhanger and you had to read the next one to know what happened next. The love triangle was very surprising but at the same time pretty predictable (except for the ending, now that I could have never even thought of). Now that I think of it, it's kind of giving The Summer I Turned Pretty vibes (which btw I haven't read but I do have on my TBR list). I loved how the chapters were written from the characters point of view and further into the series more characters narrated which I found amazing. The characters, plot, setting, twists were a 10/10 but...

The only thing that kind of caught me off guard was the language. I would say 85% of it was easy to understand but there were many words that were new (which on one side is really good cuz you can learn and widen your dictionary) but reading this book for pleasure and having to stop every once in a while can get a little tad frustrating (especially when there is a whole series, which happens to be the case here).

In conclusion loved the first book and I'm giving it a solid 7.5/10
