"Glass Sword" by Victoria Aveyard is the second installment in the Red Queen series. It continues the story of Mare Barrow in a dystopian world where society is divided into Reds (ordinary citizens) and Silvers (those with superhuman abilities). In this book, Mare, who possesses unique abilities despite having Red blood, is on a mission to find and recruit others like her known as "newbloods." As she gathers this group, she faces challenges, betrayal, and the harsh realities of war. "Glass Sword" is a tale of rebellion, the pursuit of justice, and the consequences of challenging a deeply entrenched power structure, adding depth and complexity to the intriguing world introduced in the first book.

This book is just as good as the first one. Full of twists and turns and exciting moments. I loved how this book had so many references to the first book and I loved how well the autor was able to connect these two and make a part two to Red Queen without making it boring or making it seem super predictable.

This book (just like the first one) is written in a harder language than most books this kind, but in this case it was way easier to understand and grasp the full context of the book.

However, in Glass Sword the continuation of the Red Queen series, there is a little bit more of romance, which some readers appreciate more than others. In my case however, I loved that this book gave us a little bit more of a love story and a few cute (not spicy) chapters. A 13 year old would be totally fine with reading this book. I personally love romance books and seeing how well Mrs. Victoria combined the full of action and engaging parts with the romantic part just makes this book a lot better.

Overall, "Glass Sword" successfully builds upon the foundation laid in the first book and takes the story in new and exciting directions. It delves deeper into the complexities of the characters and the societal issues they confront. While it may not entirely avoid some of the common tropes of dystopian fiction, it offers enough originality and intrigue to keep readers invested in the series. Fans of the first book will likely find "Glass Sword" to be a satisfying continuation of Mare's journey.

In general, great book, great story line, great twists and turns, great language and fantastic element of a teen romance. 8.5/10 - good job Mrs. Aveyard 💙
